Training and Certification
DABC offers classroom training for each of the volunteer roles. Tax assistors will receive training on the software (for tax return preparation), and support to pass the IRS certification tests. A mentor will also be assigned to each tax assistor during their first shift to support the initial tax return preparation. DABC provides computer labs with instructors, where volunteers can practice and get help with the certification process. The certification process can also be performed at your own pace, from your own computer at home.
